The Sunday Sportives are a series of Sunday road rides, run by the Trail Break company to a sportive format, pitched a step down in difficulty from a true Cyclosportive. Trail Break say they serve as great training events to keep riders sharp through the sportive season as well as offering a great introduction to the cyclosportive format for the newcomer.

Trail Break is running two such events in August, the first being the Woodcote Sunday Sportive on August 5, based at the RATZ MBC race course on the outskirts of Woodcote village, north of Reading. According to Trail Break the course is a classic southern Chilterns circuit, with short, sharp climbs, leafy lanes and picture postcard villages. It's a flowing course, they say, but with plenty of physical challenge. >The scenery varies spectacularly, from the banks of the Thames, through hilly, hollow Chilterns lanes and onto broad open vistas where the route passes through Ridgeway country, offering a hint of the plains off to the west. Participants travelling to the event from further afield have the option of free camping on the Woodcote site on the Saturday night. >There are 125, 95 or 76km distances to choose from, with full route marking, feed stations, broom wagon support and Sport Ident electronic timing for all riders, as well as automatic entry into the Sunday Sportive 2007 series draw to win a frame or a holiday. >Full route profiles for the Woodcote Sunday Sportive events are available online here. Printable maps and GPS route downloads will be available prior to the event Full details and online booking for all events can be found at www.trailbreak.co.uk/sundaysportive/ or for more information, call 0118 976 2491. >For those looking for some cyclosportive action a little futher north,Trail break are running the Leathley Sunday Sportive on August 19, on the North Yorkshire Moors. > >Online Booking >http://www.trailbreak.co.uk/shop/default.php?cPath=1_23
