It seems buying a new bike has become increasingly expensive in recent years, with top-spec road bikes now the stuff purely of dreams for many.

That doesn't mean you can't find some bargains though, and we've trawled the web to find what we think are the best-value bike deals right now.

We’ve got some brilliant road bikes and gravel bikes on our list, so let’s waste no more time and get right to it.

Boardman ADV 8.9

Boardman ADV 8.9
Boardman's ADV 8.9 offers go-anywhere versatility. Boardman

The ADV 8.9 is the cheapest off-road bike on this list and is a brilliant gravel and commuter machine.

It's priced at only £1,200, and for that price you get a tubeless-ready wheel and tyre combo, Shimano’s GRX RX610 groupset and hydraulic disc brakes.

The bike has a versatile style with plenty of mounting points. It’s capable of gravel riding, or slap some mudguards on and you’ve got a trusty commuter bike. With a set of faster tyres, it would make a great winter road bike.

It’s not going to be the lightest bike, but you’ll struggle to do better for the money.

Canyon Endurace 6

Canyon Endurance 6
The Endurance 6 offers everyday practicality. Canyon

If you want a road bike for long rides, we can't think of many better deals than this. This Endurance has a Shimano Tiagra mechanical groupset and hydraulic disc brakes, which should provide solid performance whatever the weather.

Right now, there's a £50 saving on the Endurance 6, with the bike usually priced at £1,349.

You might want to consider upgrading to a better set of wheels and tyres, especially if you want to go tubeless, but there’s not much else wrong here, and it’s impressive value at this price.

Giant Defy Advanced 1

The Defy Advanced 1 makes for a comfortable and sporty road bike. Giant

If you’re looking for a seriously fast endurance bike, there isn't a better choice than our 2024 Bike of the Year 2024, the Giant Defy.

Giant has taken the Defy back to its roots with the latest model, giving it wide enough clearance for endurance road rides and a lightweight build. Shimano 105 Di2 is specced on the bike, which is probably more groupset than any of us will ever need.

Giant has saved a bit of money on the wheels. These are alloy, but they're tubeless-ready and could easily be upgraded to a set of carbon wheels.

If you want to build up a lightweight endurance bike, this would be an amazing place to start.

Cube Agree C:62 ONE

Cube Agree C-62 ONE
Cube has been impressing everyone with its value for money. Cube

The best brand for value in early 2025 is unquestionably Cube. Its prices across a range of road and gravel bikes are impressive, but there is a problem.

Cube seemingly can’t make enough bikes to meet demand.

We’ve picked out the Agree C:62 ONE because we think it strikes the perfect balance between price and performance.

The carbon frame is a really good base for upgrades, although we wouldn’t be swapping out the Shimano 105 Di2 groupset any time soon.

The first thing we’d upgrade down the line would be the wheels. These Newmen hoops weigh about 1,700g, so a deeper carbon set would make this bike look amazing.

The Agree is a bike that should suit recreational riders pretty much perfectly. It’s not a full aero race bike, but it still gets aero-optimised tube shapes. It’s not a super-relaxed endurance bike either, but it still has a comfortable position.

All in, it looks like an amazing deal – If you can get one.

Van Rysel RCR

Van Rysel RCR
Van Rysel's RCR comes with Zipp 404 Firecrest wheels. Decathlon

The Van Rysel RCR was one of the best road race bikes we rode in 2024, and we think the Force-level build is the way to go.

You don’t get the top-spec one-piece cockpit, but they’re often more hassle than they’re worth due to fit issues. Instead, this one has a two-piece system, enabling you to fine-tune your setup, and the bike won’t cost you £9,000, which is a significant saving.

SRAM's Force is an excellent groupset, and you get the brand's super-reliable power meter, along with a set of Zipp wheels.

Specialized Tarmac SL7 Comp

Specialized's Tarmac SL7 Comp comes with Shimano's 105 Di2 groupset. Certini

The Tarmac SL7 Comp features electronic shifting in the form of Shimano 105 Di2 and solid aluminium wheels from DT Swiss.

Down the road, if you want more speed, you can easily slap on a set of deeper carbon wheels.

You can get great carbon wheels for less than £1,000 these days and, beyond this price, the gains are very marginal.

If you want a power meter on your bike, send the left crank to 4iiii for a factory install, and you'd have an incredible race bike at a fraction of the cost of those you see in the Tour de France.

Merida Reacto 6000 Di2

Merida's Reacto 6000 Di2 is a wheel upgrade away from being a race bike. Tredz

Another brilliant way to get yourself a race bike without spending ridiculous money is to start with this Merida Reacto. It’s currently down to just under £2,395, which is fabulous value for an aero bike.

Like the Tarmac, this is an excellent way to start if you want to build a fast race bike. Again, you’ll probably want to upgrade the wheels and tyres to something faster, but because you can do that easily for less than £1,000, you’re looking at a good-value racing option.

Liv Avail 2

Liv Avail 2
Liv's Avail 2 is the cheapest bike on this list and is great for beginners. Liv

Yes, you can still buy rim brake bikes and, if you’re just starting out, the Avail 2 is a great option.

Don’t let the lack of disc brakes put you off; the women’s-specific geometry and lightweight build mean this is going to ride really well.

There's the excellent Shimano Sora groupset, and the bike is also set up with 28mm tyres, so it should be plenty comfortable enough.

This would be an excellent buy for a first-time roadie.

Giant TCR Advanced 2

Giant TCR Advanced 2
Giant's rim-brake TCR Advanced 2 represents amazing value for money. Giant

In terms of bang for your buck, there is no better deal, in our eyes, than a Giant TCR.

This TCR Advanced 2 is listed for £1,574 on Giant's website.

Giant still makes the Advanced 2, which gets you a carbon frame and the excellent Shimano 105 rim-brake groupset.

The mechanical shifting is fantastic and, while Giant’s own alloy wheels aren’t anything special, they’re at least tubeless-ready.

Despite what every brand might want you to believe, you don’t need disc brakes to have a great road bike, with rim brakes working sufficiently well on even the longest descents.
