Van Rysel has announced its continued support of the Roubaix UCI Continental team for the 2025 season.
In a presentation from Le Musée La Piscine de Roubaix, the Lille-based brand cemented its commitment, unveiling a fresh set of Van Rysel-Roubaix kit and a custom-painted team edition of the flagship RCR Pro race bike.
2024 was a fruitful year for the title partners, with 14 victories, 17 podium finishes and the first of many UCI road race wins for the RCR.
Now, the northern neighbours are aiming to build on their shared success as we roll into the new year.
‘From Lille’
The Van Rysel-Roubaix relationship makes perfect sense.
Hailing from the neighbouring cities of Lille and Roubaix respectively, both parties are fundamentally influenced by and ingrained in the rich local cycling culture.
This region is famous worldwide for its iconic pavé, which has played host to the last leg of the historic Paris-Roubaix race for almost 130 years.
These brutal cobblestone segments have served as a backdrop for some of professional cycling’s most dramatic moments, and they’re the foundation on which Van Rysel and the Roubaix cycling team were built.
The new 2025 Van Rysel-Roubaix kit and bike showcase these regional links with subtle (and not-so-subtle) nods to the local culture, art and history.
The tools to win
Sticking with the Roubaix team’s signature bright pink and black colours, Van Rysel has designed a new aerodynamically optimised jersey and bib shorts.
This is complemented by the RCR Pro Roubaix 2025 bike in a matching marble-effect paintjob.
Van Rysel prides itself on being a fully integrated brand that produces every element of the cyclist’s equipment.
As such, the team will also be kitted out with Van Rysel’s RCR, RCR-F and XCR helmets, and PERF 900 sunglasses. Some riders, such as Célestin Guillon, will also wear the brand’s RCR shoes.
Van Rysel RCR Pro Roubaix 2025
The star of the show is the Van Rysel RCR Pro Roubaix 2025 team bike.
This eye-catching version of Van Rysel’s flagship race machine is built with a SRAM Force AXS groupset, Zipp 404 Firecrest wheels, 28mm Michelin Power Cup Tubeless Ready tyres, and a Deda bar and stem.
Most notably, it’s finished in a striking black and fluorescent pink marbled effect. According to Van Rysel’s product manager for race bikes, Jeremie Debeuf, no two are the same. “The paint is done in a bath, so the lines are different on every bike,” Debeuf tells BikeRadar.
“It makes each one completely unique.
“There were a few different ideas, and it took a lot of research from the design team, but when we saw the reaction of the riders, we knew we had made the right decision. To have a fast bike is one thing, but to have a fast bike as beautiful as this… well”
And good news for those who like what they see – once it has assessed demand, Van Rysel plans to make the 2025 Roubaix bike commercially available, albeit in limited quantities.
“This is our challenge,” Debeuf explains. “2024 was year one for the RCR, but this year is all about acceleration. As part of that, we’ll be looking to make this version available in small numbers to purchase.”
2025 Van Rysel-Roubaix kit
Also available for purchase in March will be the 2025 Van Rysel-Roubaix kit.
Presented in the team’s signature pink, the jersey features several references to Roubaix’s cultural and artistic heritage.
The tonal geometric print to the front, for example, is a nod to the Soleil Levant – Soleil Couchant stained glass windows in the famous La Piscine museum, where the launch event took place.
Then there are the team’s partners, arranged to look like stickers down the left-hand side. This refers to the custom of leaving stickers on the Piscine’s main entrance door.
2025 Van Rysel-Roubaix helmet and accessories
Van Rysel-Roubaix will also be kitted out with a selection of helmets, complete with bright-pink accents to tie in with the jersey and bike.
There are three helmets in total.
The RCR-F is the brand’s wind-tunnel tested aero helmet and will be worn for flatter stages.
The RCR is a heavily ventilated helmet for long days in the mountains.
FInaly, the XCR is a time-trial helmet developed with expert input to help the Roubaix team achieve their fastest possible times.
On top of that, the team will also be wearing Van Rysel’s PERF 900 sunglasses in matching bright pink.
The shades feature an oversized visor lens for maximum coverage and a thin plastic frame to keep weight to a minimum.
The helmets and shades are available to buy now in non-team colours from Van Rysel.
The special-edition team bike and kit will follow.
