Paddy Maddison is a freelance cycling journalist who spent his formative years mortified by his family’s penchant for Lycra, but now embraces it wholeheartedly. He can usually be found failing to bag KOMs, talking to himself on ultra-endurance rides and tinkering with bikes when he’s supposed to be writing. He’s always looking for new and exciting ways to torture himself on two wheels and hopes to soon follow in his grandad’s footsteps and ride the Paris-Brest-Paris. Paddy has tested all manner of bikes, kit and tech for outlets including The Independent and Red Bull Bike and recently finished building a gravel bike which (touch wood) hasn’t fallen to bits yet.
