Gore Wear, the merging of Gore Bike Wear and Gore Running Wear, has announced a new range of Shakedry jackets, now available in colour as well.
Gore-Tex Shakedry puts the waterproof membrane on the outside of the fabric. This eliminates the traditional face fabric, saving weight and improving packability.
Because the membrane itself permanently repels water, that means no DWR (Durable Water Repellent) coating is required. Gore-Tex also claims improved breathability.
However, so far, it has only been possible to dye the fabric black. Now it’s available in blue and grey too. All existing jackets have been updated and are immediately available in new colours
Gore Wear is also adding two new cycling specific models to the range.
The C5 Gore-Tex Viz will feature arm cuffs and a back panel made from a neon Gore-Tex Active material for increased visibility, and is available immediately.
The C7 Gore-Tex Shakedry Stretch will use a Gore-Tex stretch laminate on the side, hem and shoulders to provide a slim, non-restrictive fit, and will be available from April 2018.
The prices for the range remain between £200–£250 / $280–$300.
