Our review
Great for flat surfaces but the riding experience divided our testers

This magnetic Elite trainer shares many of the features of the fluid version, including a square base – not the best for uneven surfaces, a ‘free-floating’ frame, and quick bike attachment. Here the resistances are fixed at eight levels, while its big brother offers progressive resistance.

The fixed resistance levels are useful if you want to pedal particular cadences at specific powers – if you want to do 60rpm at 200W, then 100rpm at 200W, for instance, it’s easy. The resistance is there when you need it, but some lighter riders found the vibrations and movement unnerving when they upped the intensity.
