Our review
A basic unit with clear instructions that covers heart rate and computer basics. At this price it’s a bargain

You can easily pay £50 for a standard wireless cycle computer but the RSP 22 includes a heart rate monitor, too. This basic unit displays your speed large and bold in the middle of the screen, and only has two buttons to deal with – an advantage for the technophobic.

There’s no option to download information to your home computer, and the only non-standard functions that it offers are calorie counting (although that’s something you should probably take with a pinch of salt) and temperature, but if you’re looking for a basic HRM setup that’s very straightforward to use, this is bang on the money.

The computer clicks into its mount laterally, so you can’t mount it on the stem, and the magnet isn’t quite as secure on bladed spokes as some, but to cover heart rate and computer basics at this price it’s a bargain. The instructions, though brief, are pleasingly clear too.
