Solid 24-hour performance but buttons can be awkward to use

This computer is small-screened and slightly awkward to use but still a reliable choice for all-hours training. The head unit is relatively tall but the minimal bracket lowers overall height, and the device can mount onto your stem or any bar shape.

The angle-adjustable speed sensor is chunky too, though it zip-ties on securely enough and the magnet is bladed or round spoke compatible. You’ll need to factor the short transmission range (70cm) into fitting but that does stop cross-talk with other Cateye units.

The small screen means both data lines can be slightly hard to read. While the backlight is a useful feature, it’s operated with a pinch to the back of the top corner – not the easiest trick to pull, especially on dark roads. The single button needs a firm, direct hit to click through the 10-function menu too.
