These have quite a wide fit but, like the men’s MT41s, they have come up bit smaller than you would expect. The toe box area is reduced for women, but make sure it suits your feet – we found it a little constricting.
The sole is really stiff which is great for pedalling efficiency, but though the tread is chunky for good grip and they have quite hiking looks, there’s a distinct ‘rocking’ feel over the cleat area when you’re walking which is slightly disconcerting.
They come with a replaceable cleat cover, which is handy, a Velcro strap keeps the lace ends out of harm’s way, and the leather and nylon mesh uppers protect your feet without them overheating.
There’s also a little reflective square on the heel which adds a – slightly token – nod to safety for commuting and touring, though it’s still appreciated.
