If your riding consists of shorter night-time and city commutes then a pair of lightweight windproof, waterproof overtrousers can prove invaluable.
Huge leg zips make getting the Night Visions on and off over shoes easy, and the side Velcro tabs help draw in the excess once you're in the saddle. Huge reflective flashes on the sides and back of the legs stand out well in cars' lights.
There's a handy pocket at the back but none at the front to reduce bulk and keep the trouser shape.
The waterproof fabric does get sweaty if you up the pace, but the Night Visions are intended for the easier city rides and they do a great job of getting you noticed in the dark and keeping your strides dry. All the seams are taped and the trousers are well made and should last a long time; well worth the £50 price.
