Forget the price for a moment and concentrate on the quality. Sidi are the cycling shoe brand that all others aspire to, as they make the most comfortable cycling shoes in the world. They're narrow, but are able to form to your foot shape unlike any other shoe.
The Dragon 2 has an improved heel fit over the original model, thanks to the screw adjust HCS (Heel Cup System), but otherwise remains unchanged. This includes the replaceable SRS sole unit (worn out the rubber sole lugs? Don't lob the shoes, just buy a new outsole and screw it on).
There's the Z Lock Velcro strap on the toe, the twist dial midfoot strap and the micro buckle top strap, and this combination works really well to create a bespoke and highly adjustable fit. Sidi don't make a carbon sole MTB shoe and the plastic midsole is softer feeling than other pure race shoes, so this may put off power hungry XC racers, but the rest of us will absolutely love them.
