Most overshoes are aimed at road riders but the MT500s from Endura are made with mountain bikers in mind. They have a hard-wearing Nylon-faced Neoprene upper and a tough grippy rubberised forward sole with a lip over the toe area.
The rest of the sole is Kevlar faced. Combined with cutout sections for the heel and cleat, this allows you to walk without instantly wearing them out, which is the big downside of road overshoes.
A tough zip with a Velcro heel tab makes them quick and easy to get on and off as well as ensuring snug fitting, and the combination of the Neoprene construction and welded seams means they’re as wind, cold and water-resistant as any others we’ve tried.
The rear zip is bordered with reflective strips for night safety. Take care on sizing, because they’re made for narrow race-type shoes – you’ll need to go up a size if you want them for wider casual shoes.
