These remain the benchmark for use with flat pedals. The Impact 2s come up half a size bigger than the earlier design, and if anything are even more comfortable, with lots of room in the well-armoured toes.
Providing great sole support and grip on the pedals, they’re even comfy to walk in. These spend life caked in filth (the first time they were cleaned was for this pic) and don’t seem to suffer.
They’re bulky and can polish chainstays, but this Sam Hill/Monster colour scheme looks less Frankenstein than the standard, £5 cheaper black. Our search continues for a sleeker shoe that works this well.
