The Lifeline Spin Doctor workstand folds flat into a good compact length, but the lack of a carry bag and the slightly wobbly nature of the V-shape footprint on uneven ground means this is one we’d rather keep for home use.
We were happy to see a workstand coming in under the £100 mark, but we did find we had to make compromises for this low price related to ease of use and quality of components.
The quick-release style clamp adjustment was hard to get tight, and opening out the legs proved to be a tussle.
However, if you don’t need a stand that will sit on an uneven surface in a 24-hour race pit, and you can live with the faff factor of the clamp in exchange for the money-saving benefits, then the Lifeline does the job.
