A must for keen home mechanics looking to protect their investments

Feedback Sports have a habit of designing neat solutions for workshop items, enhancing their functionality and aesthetics at the same time, and the Sprint Work Stand is no exception.

With modern bikes featuring ever more exotic frame or tube shapes, workstands designed to hold only the seatpost just won’t work.

Mostly constructed of red anodised aluminium, the complete stand is a very portable 5.9kg, and arrives folded into a very compact 81x19x13cm package. Setup takes moments, the braced tripod legs are controlled by a quick release collar, smoothly sliding into place.

The main supporting spar is hinged, with a full-length slot beneath. This locates on to plastic lugs atop the column’s head, and a dome headed bolt that secures the sliding spar in position with a quick release lever.

The telescopic column permits a spar height from 75cm to 121cm, and the two clamps make it possible to set a working height and enable free rotation. Two rubber-covered ribs support the bottom bracket and guide the rear wheel if necessary.

Meanwhile the fork or rear dropouts are clamped by a universal quick release fitting on a sliding mount. This is designed for conventional road hub spacings, plus 15mm front thru axles, 135mm rear or 142x12mm mountain bike rear axles, with a 20mm axle adaptor sold separately, so one stand can fit all.

The Sprint’s wide 116cm footprint is super stable, even when carrying out major bike surgery, and the ability to raise and rotate the bike saves time, effort and your back. Being able to accurately set saddle and handlebar position, then adjust the gears without the bike jumping around is a boon.

If working on the front brake, simply clamp the rear dropout, and refit the front wheel for fuss-free support. Bike washing is more efficient too, and being aluminium, it won’t rust.
