Muc-Off's well-presented Stealth Tubeless Puncture Plug repair kit is designed to sit inside the ends of your handlebar, saving you storage space elsewhere, to get you out of trouble when tubeless sealant is not enough.
Weighing 65g (including seven of the supplied 15 multi-sized repair strips), the system comes with three different-sized rubber bungs to ensure a good fit in your bar. Each tool is secured in place using a 4mm Allen key, which expands the rubber bung.
The ends act as bar plugs, so you may need to trim or replace grips that have closed ends. If fitted flush with the edge of the grip, I found I needed to use the Allen key to persuade the tool out of the bar.
One side of the kit holds the fork to push a strip into the puncture, which you can ream out using the textured section of the fork leg.
The other holds a fairly sharp serrated knife, which easily trims excess strip from the tubeless tyre once plugged. I managed to fix my tyre's test punctures as reliably as I’d expect with any tubeless repair kit.
The aluminium casings for the tools come in a range of 10 colours, and appear well-finished. With extra strips stored in the sheath (as recommended by Muc-Off), I found it a little fiddly to unscrew the tools because the strips resist the internal twisting required, but this is a minor inconvenience.
