The SWAT Conceal Carry tool sits inside your fork steerer, much like OneUp’s EDC tool, although Specialized’s offering has fewer functions.
Fitting takes a matter of minutes once you’ve hammered out your old star-fangled nut, and you don’t have to tap a thread into the steerer, as with OneUp’s set-up.
Once you’ve placed the upper half of the system inside the steerer, you simply screw in the right length bolt (multiple options are included) and base plate from the bottom to secure the fork and headset assembly in place in the frame.
The little multi-tool sits under a swivelling top cap and is sprung-loaded, so once the top cap swings out of the way, it pops up for easy access. This also means it’s held securely in place, and I had no issues with my sample rattling.

Specialized has included 3-8mm Allen keys plus a T25 Torx key. While the tool is pretty small, it’s comfy enough to use, although leverage is somewhat limited.
There’s also a chain breaker, incorporated into the tool container, but you have to remove the whole Conceal Carry system from the steerer to use it. Its length and shape mean it isn’t the most ergonomic, but it’ll do the job if called upon. The base plate can also hold a quick link, which is handy.
