The OneUp Components 70cc EDC Pump Kit uses the cavity within its hand pump to hold a multi-tool and tyre-plug kit. It is designed as an easy way to carry all the tools you might need when out on a ride in a compact manner.
The £160 / $160 / €172 kit consists of a 70cc pump and EDC V2 tool, a tyre-plug kit and bottle cage mount – all of which can also be bought separately.
The bottle cage mount fits underneath any standard bottle cage, to make it easy to transfer the tool and pump between bikes.
The high-volume compact pump is designed specifically for mountain bike and gravel tyres and is claimed to inflate them to 60psi with no issue.
Constructed from CNC aluminium, the pump features a hollow design and is compatible exclusively with Presta valves. The valve head can be removed for use as a CO2 inflator, too.
The EDC tool system slots into the top of the pump.
The multi-tool has an extensive set of bits, including, 2, 2.5, 3, 4, 5, 6 and 8mm Allen keys, T25 Torx and a flathead screwdriver.
In addition, the system includes a tyre lever, chain breaker, spoke keys (0, 1, 2 and 3 sizes), quick-link storage, spare rotor bolt and a Presta valve-core tool.
The 70cc version comes with a small storage capsule designed to hold the tubeless repair fork pre-loaded with a plug.
For those needing additional capacity, the 100cc EDC Pump Kit accommodates a CO2 canister and retails at the same price. Our test model weighed 252g, not including the bottle cage mount.
On-frame tool storage | How we tested
We tested these on-bike tool-storage solutions in a plethora of conditions, ranging from hot and dusty days to torrential rain and sloppy trails.
They were tested out on the trail in all conditions and ridden on different terrain to test their stability and suitability for different disciplines of mountain biking.
Where tools were included, they were tested trail-side, with the exception of tubeless-repair equipment and chain breakers, which were tested in the workshop.

OneUp Components 70cc EDC Pump Kit performance
OneUp’s EDC Pump Kit is a great way to fit all the tools you may need in a compact, easy-to-carry system.
The bottle cage mount fits underneath standard bottle cages and keeps the pump out of the way when riding, plus it looks neat against the frame.
Its design means you don’t sacrifice any hydration space to the tool kit, as you do with some other storage options.
The kit is especially beneficial for longer rides, where relying solely on CO2 canisters may not suffice, with the added benefit of using a pump over disposable canisters.
The tools are nested securely inside the pump, ensuring no rattling noises while riding.
Although removing the EDC tool can be tricky if the O-ring dries out – a minor inconvenience that can be mitigated by greasing it as recommended by OneUp – the overall compact form and integration are highly appreciated.
The pump is easy to grip and has a smooth action that inflates tyres well; I had no issue pumping up standard mountain bike tyres.
The pump’s head had to be held onto the valve to create an air-tight seal, but this did not prove to be an issue in pumping effectively, thanks to its compact nature.
Doubling up the pump’s head as a CO2 inflator is nifty, however unscrewing it by hand can be difficult.
Fortunately, an 8mm Allen key will help, but I don’t recommend using the 8mm Allen key on the multi-tool because I found it caused damage.
Most of the tools performed admirably in testing. However, the 8mm Allen key, which combines the flathead screwdriver with the 5mm hex, didn’t perform as well as a dedicated bit.
Notably, the tyre-plug fork stood out for its effective design, making quick work of inserting plugs into punctured tyres.
The mini-tool’s slim design makes it difficult to get a firm grip and apply adequate leverage on tighter bolts, or ones that have high torque specs. A more robust, girthier design would provide better handling and usability.
Weight-conscious riders might prefer a lighter setup, and riders who prefer dedicated tools for specific jobs may dislike the multi-tool.
The quick-link storage is useful, however I found them very hard to retrieve out on the trail, adding to the frustration of already having a mechanical.
Finally, the compact tool system is tricky to reassemble before inserting it back into the pump, especially when wearing winter gloves or dealing with cold, wet hands. A more user-friendly design would significantly improve the score for this otherwise useful storage option.
OneUp Components 70cc EDC Pump Kit bottom line
OneUp’s EDC Pump Kit is a great set-and-forget solution that will ensure you have all the vital trail-side repair items to hand in an emergency.
It's not one for the weight-conscious and some may find it fiddly to use out on the trail, but it's a good option that should ensure you never have to worry whether you have everything you need on your ride.
