The Sterling mini pump is available in two lengths and with or without a gauge. We opted for the LG (long, with gauge) model, and have been impressed with its capability on everything from fatbike tyres to high-pressure commuter rubber.
This versatility comes courtesy of a dual piston design that, with a twist of the dial on the base, enables you to switch between high volume (1-40psi) and high pressure (40-100psi) modes. The pump head works with both Presta and Schrader valves without needing to switch the insides around, and we were able to inflate a 29er tyre to 30psi in 170 strokes. The polished aluminium body keeps weight to a reasonable 169g. Construction is solid, with a CNCed section for grip.
