Our review

Old-fashioned pump with good looks – but very hard work over 60psi

Zefal's Lapize is a frame-ﬁtting pump with a separate hose designed for bikes with pump pegs. Though its steel barrel and aluminium handle will complement the looks of a classic bike very well, we found it hard work.

The separate hose means you can grip it comfortably when pumping, but the Lapize has an insubstantial feel and takes an age to get a tyre up to pressure.

We also found that we had to stop to retighten the hose occasionally, as it loosened on the Presta valve as it heated up. Two lengths of pump are available.
