Blackburn's latest mini pump has a novel selling point – a head connected by a telephone-cable-like extending tube.
It means that when you’re pumping up tyres you’re not putting so much strain on the valve and you can pump in a more comfortable position.
But it suffers the same problems as all small pumps, and takes over 100 strokes to get a road tyre up to 100psi. We also found that the part of the pump that you grip with the pumping hand is very short.
This means it doesn’t allow you to get a good or comfortable grip. That said, we’d very much like to see that same head arrangement on a larger pump.
