Scott’s Fuga helmet is geared towards cross-country use but tips the scales at 321g, which, while not heavy, isn’t the most race-friendly weight out there. Some of the extra grams are due to the MIPS liner, which adds protection should you hit your head at an awkward angle. The weight isn’t noticeable when riding, thanks to the snug fit of Scott’s HALO retention system, which is designed to adapt to your head shape.
I did find it tended to slip forward slightly when riding aggressively though. The adjustable cradle and micro-adjust dial make it a comfy helmet for long days on the trail.
The peak is on the small side and easily removed, so it can be used as a road helmet too
Flow channels link the large front and rear vents effectively and keep you from overheating. The X-Static antibacterial padding does a good job of absorbing sweat and kept the Fuga fresh throughout the test period.
While the front straps sit quite far forward on your cheekbones, I didn’t notice them when wearing riding glasses. The peak is on the small side and easily removed, so it can be used as a road helmet too.
