This are cost-effective and super light wheels, but they're only recommended for smooth, careful riders.
The E5 alloy is from Specialized’s frame program to produce an ultra light, tubeless-compatible rim. Even with violin string tight lacing of the 24 front/28 rear spokes there’s still a lot of flex. The low flanges add to the flex, but also make these impressively light (the lightest we've tested recently), so speed fiends will love them.
The smooth, fast-engaging DT Swiss internals used in the rear hub are a longevity bonus too, and they still feel silky smooth despite some proper stormwash/mud fests during testing.
Lightweight titanium quick release skewers are a great inclusion for the money, though again stiffness isn’t a strong point.
