The Neutrons are impressively constructed, with carbon and aluminium hub bodies. The heads of the straight-pull spokes are hidden inside them, and the rear drive-side spokes are thicker to better handle pedalling loads.
The front rim is lighter than the rear and drilled for angled spoke entry, while the rear is drilled asymmetrically, with all spokes entering the rim on the non-drive-side to improve lateral rigidity. The outer rim wall isn’t drilled, and the inner wall is milled to lighten it.
Though not the lightest, on the road the Neutrons display urgent acceleration when sprinting, and they eat up climbs. The ride feels firm and unforgiving, but the payoff is an agile, ultra responsive wheelset that’s surefooted on its 20mm rims, but oozes class.
These wheels proved tough to fit tyres onto. Simple pop-off plastic dust caps cover the Allen key-adjustable hub bearings. Supplied with wheel bags, a service and a maintenance booklet.
