These Swiss all-mountain wheels are sweet and smooth but not so tasty price-wise. Based around DT's 20mm front, 10mm rear axle versions of DT's proven 240s hubs with hand serviceable Hugi Freehubs, they're super smooth and their longevity should be legendary. The EX5.1 rims are building a great reputation for strength too, with enough width to fatten and stabilise mid-size tyres. Hand building with double butted bladed Alpine spokes adds premium quality control, excellent steering/side load stiffness and chunky CrossMax-style looks.
At 1.796kg (850g front, 946g rear) they feel XC lively on the bike. They certainly run among the lightest broad rimmed, allmountain wheels without compromising spoke count, strength or stiffness. 20mm front adaptors can be swapped for QR, but won't fall out accidentally, while the rear uses a 10mm DWS locking skewer. Quality padded wheelbags and spoke key complete the VIP package, and you can't get these rims and wheels in white any other way.
That colour certainly costs though - you could build up the same wheelset for £50 less, and obvious competition from Hope and Bontrager comes in £200 cheaper.
