Hope's quick releases fall firmly into the bling camp. The cam and bush are both made from resilient brass, but care must be taken to ensure that these stay lubricated as they do tend to bind if left dry.
We had problems getting several wheels in tight enough - in both rigid and suspension forks - and weren't helped by the knurled nut which was sharp to grip. The handle is also pretty uncomfortable and a bit too narrow to get a purchase on when wet. The shaft is stainless, so they should last ages, though.
