Interesting new idea that works well, but comes at a stiff price

RWS stands for Ratchet Wheelmounting System, and DT Swiss has had a good try at reinventing it here. The quick release tightens simply by turning until it's snug against the drop-out, before fine-tuning the lever position to suit by a separate mechanism.

This giant wingnut of a fastener felt completely counterintuitive to us at first, raised as we were on a diet of traditional cams. However, we didn't have a problem with it loosening, so it reflects DT's claim that the new system allows a marked increase in clamp force.
