Our review
Responsive high grip, low weight spike but very expensive

Schwalbe's Black Shark is a proven classic, updated with the latest underpinnings for state-of-the-art performance.

Well, more 'state-of-the-ark' really, as it has to be Biblically wet for the spike tread to start biting, but once it's soft it's savagely grippy. The soft Gooey Gluey compound is as sticky as it sounds on occasional harder bits too, and it cleans well in clay.
>The regimented tread arrangement occasionally sideslips or misses a beat under high braking/sideloads, though. While the relatively lightweight carcass and thin width means good acceleration and penetration, high pressures are essential to ward off pinch flats.
