The High Roller has been a tyre of choice for many riders for some time and is available in many guises from cross-country-friendly 2.1 to downhill brute sized 2.7. The High Roller tubeless options come in 2.1 and 2.35 sizes and use the LUST system – Lightweight Ultimate Sidewall Technology. This keeps the tyre light without losing out on air retention, which can be a common problem on lightweight tubeless tyres.
The centre knob’s ramped paddle leading edge allows fast rolling for such an aggressive tyre, and ample braking grip with the square face rear edge. The 2.1s have a slightly rounder profile than the downhill version, and less pronounced shoulders, making for predictable cornering on most surfaces.
Using a 120 threads per inch casing keeps the weight down, but ensures the carcass has a supple feel, making the most of being able to run low pressures with puncture resistance.
Weighing in at just 680g each for the 2.1 size, the High Roller LUST handles like a far heavier, grippier tyre. Even with the fairly hard 62a durometer, grip is exceptional.
