The H Block SLR tyres from Halo are aimed at racers and people who want to make their dirt jump bike lighter.
On track, the H Block centre tread rolls blindingly fast thanks to its minimal depth. It was still grippy enough even when things got damp or we switched to sand-based dirt jumps.
Head into the corners and the slightly deeper tread pays dividends and does the job, although in any kind of less-than-dry condition we’d probably opt for something with a bit more bite. That said, when it did come to sliding we found the H Blocks were reasonably predictable, although they did tend to lose it once we leaned too far.
