Hutchinson’s proven Intensive 2 tyre rewards initial patience with a remarkably tough and puncture resistant long-term performance.
The Intensive comes out of its mould slathered in silicone, and it starts off as a super slippery, wooden feeling nightmare on the first few rides you use it for, but if you give the protective layer a chance to break in and let the silicone wear off, then it becomes much smoother.
The ‘2’ version’s grip in the wet is improved markedly, too, so while it’s never a tyre that you'll want to corner knee down when it’s raining really heavily, you don’t have to tip toe through every wet descent.
Its puncture protection is good too, and its wear life is outstanding, both of which boost its already good value.
Hutchinson Intensive 2: long-term performance is outstanding
