Truvativ use carbon ribs and an internal aluminium sleeve to reinforce the thin-walled carbon fibre shaft on this bombproof seatpost. The twin-bolt aluminium clamp is similarly robust but, together with the heavy-handed shaft construction, it pushes this pricey post up the weight scale too.
A nice touch is that the titanium bolts are angled outwards so Allen keys can turn freely when adjusting the tilt and fore/aft positions. This makes adjustment far easier than a lot of other twin-bolt posts. Once fitted, the Noir gives a little extra comfort on tarmac but its tough and heavy construction makes it feel somewhat harsh off-road or on rougher potholed lanes.
