Impressively lightweight and easy to adjust

SMICA's Pro post is a quality unit with a shaft and lower clamp crisply forged from one piece of aluminium.

There's 2cm of lay-back to provide good top tube stretch and the shallow-top 'H' clamp is forged for strength. SMICA also match the conventional rear bolt with a thumbwheel at the front for very quick and easy saddle tilt adjustment, which hasn't backfired on us yet, despite us long-term testing several samples.

It's a very light post for the money - a 15g lighter carbon version is also available, but it costs double the money. Sizing is reasonably comprehensive, and SMICA got rid of the old pale blue decals in favour of a monochrome logo for 2006, so it would match just about any bike (so very important...).
