HT’s PK-01s are one of the many pedals that use Look’s classic Keo shape. They’re designed to be a lightweight race model and take Look’s H5/H7/Keo cleat system as their base.
The main body is constructed using injection-moulded carbon fibre, which not only keeps the weight down to an impressive 204g per pair (a negligible few grams more than the claimed 199g) but also makes for a tough and stiff platform.

The surface of the injected carbon body has a fine texture, but still feels waxy to the touch, which provides little resistance to a cleat, making it very easy to locate and clip in every time. The PK-01’s design has the added benefit of allowing the cleat to move freely against the pedal body so you can make the most of the available float — the amount of free rotational movement the cleat has before it disengages.
This Keo-pattern platform is fairly compact, at 65x86mm, when compared to the likes of Shimano and Time’s offerings, but still provides plenty of surface area to stay comfortable. The PK-01s offer spring tension adjustment via a centrally located, 3mm hex bolt, although we found that the higher, ‘straight from the box’ tension was ample.
Internally, the pedal’s construction around the hollow chromoly axle is fairly simple, relying on a single sealed bearing and a DU bushing to keep things smooth. They aren’t as free spinning as top-end models from Look, but the axles have stayed tight and free of play after many hours of use, in both dry and wet conditions.
The included cleats are dual compound and come with a version of the handy locating inserts included on the original Keos, which have proved to be just as hardwearing as the Look originals.
So if you’re a fan of Look’s Keo system, or you want to step up to a lighter set of pedals, then these HTs are a decent option. You won’t find lighter Keo-pattern pedals for the same money — Look’s equivalent at this price are nearly 50g heavier.
