These are essentially mountain bike pedals but they work equally well on any bike, whether it’s a BMX, fixer, tourer or town hack, where you want a large, flat, grippy platform pedal at a relatively low price.
These run on chromoly axles with loose bearings and have a grease port on the aluminium body to keep them running smoothly – there’s a grease syringe in the box to do this. (Also available are sealed-bearing V12 models at £47.95 and magnesium-bodied ones at £59.95.)
The flat aluminium bodies are slightly concaved to help your foot sit in the right position, and 13 studs hold them securely where you put them. Some of these studs are replaceable and the correct Allen key is in the box. These pedals can be completely rebuilt and all spares can be bought.
The V8s are available in 1/2in and 9/16in sizes, in a rainbow of colours to suit.
