Good pedals but you do need to look after them and replace the DU bushings regularly

Atomlab’s Trailkings the thinnest flat pedals around and so give most direct pedalling feel.

Flat-pedal users of all disciplines gravitate to the Trailking because of its slim profile. Its thin alloy body allows your foot to get closer to the pedal axle, improving control.

Six 3mm Allen pins screw into each side of the alloy pedal body, and their threaded sides help add working edges to eat the soles of your flat shoes.

The slightly concave profile cradles your foot well and the 1.5cm, ultra thin platform depth (the Crank Brothers 50/50 is 2.3cm) makes for a super stable feel. The axle is a 14mm 4140 chromoly steel model.

It’s not all good news, though. The DU bearings of Atomlabs Trailkings can be temperamental if given a good seeing to by a big rider, and we’ve been through a few pairs.

Atomlab has addressed this for 2008, and it’s a testament to the performance of these pedals that when they’re working properly, we’re happy to stick with them.
