Shimano Ultegra and M:Part A:Dapter converter review

Shimano Ultegra and M:Part A:Dapter converter review

The Ultegra threaded headset is compatible with older-style 1in threaded forks. Its self-aligning bearings dispense with the need to 'face' the head-tube on older steel frames with special tools - as would normally be the case with a traditional ball bearing or roller headset.

Easy to use and well sealed

The Ultegra threaded headset is compatible with older-style 1in threaded forks. Its self-aligning bearings dispense with the need to 'face' the head-tube on older steel frames with special tools - as would normally be the case with a traditional ball bearing or roller headset. It is shown here with the Madison M:Part converter that makes it compatible with threadless 1in forks. The stacking height with the converter is 30.5mm and it's well sealed for the road - we've never known them to need replacing. Paul Vincent
