Syntace has eschewed the trend for carbon with the F119, sticking with aluminium.
That makes sense. Stems are an area where composites rarely add stiffness or reduce weight, unless it's the weight of your wallet.
The F119 is a svelte 126g and there’s no compromise in stiffness, nor any discernible movement even when honking on the bars. The optional titanium bolt kit fitted drops around 15g over the standard steel bolts and are preferable for titanium’s anti corrosion properties.
The four-bolt fixing evenly distributes the clamp forces. The F119's price is right on the money for such a light, high performance stem, and quality of finish is second to none.
