The forging of this, Cinelli's basic stem, is flawless and the black anodised finish and Cinelli graphics look good. It’s certainly on the hefty side though, weighing in at 189g for the 120mm version.
Fitting was simple, and in the ‘lab-based’ deflection testing as well as out on the road it proved to be mighty stiff in all directions, which is no surprise considering the amount of material involved.
As well as the XL oversize 31.8mm version tested here, it’s also available in the standard 26mm bar clamp version in lengths from 50-135mm. This version offers excellent value for money as it retails for just £20.89.
