Californian company Profile Design have long been the market leaders in clip-on tri bars, so they have to dream up novel ways of improving a twin extension concept that has rarely changed.
2010 seems to have seen them settling on their most universally comfortable bar shape to date. It's halfway between the upright Stryke style and the flat ‘S’ bend of the popular Cobra extensions that Profile have previously developed, and as such incorporates the best of both with two equally comfortable hand positions on the ergonomically bladed extensions.
At 536g they could be lighter for their price and our testers did find that the elbow pads can shift slightly when riding hard. To bring the Vipers even more up-to-date they are available in everyone’s favourite new bike kit colour – pearlescent white.
