Light and tight but it won’t suit everyone

Control Tech’s top alloy bar is light enough to rival some carbon sets, if you like your bars stiff and narrow.

It’s way off the claimed 178g weight, at 226g, but that’s still impressive for an alloy bar. The limited span, low rise with gradual taper and the mechanical properties of the triple-butted scandium make it an extremely tight and stiff feeling bar.

While scandium sucks some resonance out it still tends to sting on rocky descents, so don’t wear your thinnest gloves on the longest rides.

The upswept tips and narrow span don’t suit everyone, but some testers were real fans. Rotation, centring and trim marks make setup easy and the price is competitive compared to carbon.
