Excellent set of grips that are thoughfully designed and, more importantly, do the job on the trail

As you may have already guessed, the ‘AG’ in the name here does in fact stand for that rather rapid World Cup racer, Aaron Gwin, who’s worked alongside ODI to develop the new AG-1 grips.

The single lock-on collar uses our preferred 3mm bolt size, which means it’ll clamp up nice and tight with less chance of getting mangled in the process. It also means you can get your hand right up towards the end of the grip without having to hold on to a second collar.

The grip itself is pretty thin at 28mm, offering just the right amount of trail feedback through the bar. The knurled pattern with angled ribs provides plenty to pull against when working the bar hard on the trail too.

With 135mm of space to stick your hands in, the AG-1s will easily accommodate riders with shovel-sized mitts. Finishing things off is the reinforced, integrated end cap, which is far less faff than fitting a separate bar end plug and helps keep things a little safer should you crash.
