We haven't ridden many KMC chains recently and the Gold chain is a pleasant surprise - the shifting is ace, it's exceptionally silent and it just keeps plugging on through the grime.
Luckily, it cleans up perfectly every time because you'd be gutted to lose the pimp gold finish. A matching connector link comes with the chain, but it's OK to join without. We haven't been using the chain long but, so far, reliability has been excellent and chain stretch has been minimal.
