The chain is an oft overlooked component when it comes to maintenance and it has to be said that the narrower width of a 10-speed chain results in slightly greater rate of wear than a 9-speed chain. But with several years' experience with these chains we can say that they are very reliable.
We've previously tested this chain and can confirm that the Ultra has a good reliability record, though by the time you factor in the expensive tool that is necessary to re-join the links there are more economical options available. The lighter Campagnolo Record series chain with hollowed links costs £31.99.
