Need more miles but first impressions are excellent

WickWerks make a unique fast shifting front mech that we're still waiting to have a play with. They also make twist grip shifters and very good quality replacement chainrings. We replaced a worn-out middle ring (always the first to get hooked teeth) on a 2005 XTR crankset and the shift function has improved noticeably.

RR stands for 'Radically Ramped' and refers to the way the shaping on the inner side of the rings improves upshifts by spreading chain load across many links during shifting rather than the usual method of gentle persuasion until the pins and ramps grab a single link. WickWerks rings engage under the sort of load that might make other rings fail to shift.

In theory, spreading load over a longer length of chain should increase ring life too. First impressions are that the 7075-T6 alu WickWerks rings are tougher than most.
