Our review
At a price that’s roughly half that of its more expensive rivals, what’s not to like?

RSP's Podium looks similar to certain top-end chain devices and uses a tried and tested design, with a top cage and bottom jockey wheel to keep the chain secure and a ‘taco’ bashguard to protect the chainring from hits.

Our ICSG-05 version weighed a competitive 191g. It went on to the bike smoothly within our optimum fitting time (just long enough to sip a cup of tea) and a quick fettle had it running quietly. Braking bumps haven’t been able to shift the chain and the taco has taken a couple of moderate hits with no problems. The guides are cut away to allow mud to disperse too.

It’s designed to work with a range of ring sizes from 38 to 32t, and our only niggle is that it offers less ground clearance than a size-specific device when used with smaller, trail/enduro-orientated rings.
