Our review
Well controlled and adaptable fork, but heavy – even as an air unit

The Tora is a solid, competent fork, with this top model in the range offering lots of excellent RockShox features.

The 318 gets proper Motion Control damping for a much more consistent feel than the cheaper 302 versions. You also get external rebound/compression damping and remote actuation of the pre-set ‘Floodgate’ lockout, too. However, even after they’ve smoothed out over the first few rides, the air-sprung units never feel quite as smooth as the coils seem to do.

The ‘All Travel’ system means you can choose between 80/100mm and 130mm travel just by switching internal spacers too, which makes the excess weight a bit more bearable. And the reliability is excellent.

Overall, this is a solid all-rounder, rather than being remarkable in any particular respect.
