We’re big fans of RockShox's lightweight, high control fixed-travel Revelation forks, but the adjustable-travel Dual Position Air units seem particularly trouble prone.
The latest evolution of the Revelation chassis is both light and stiff thanks to careful sculpting and the 15mm Maxle screw-through axle down below. The new Motion Control DNA damping spring stack also reduces weight and promises better oil flow management.
The Dual Position lever should lock travel down to 120mm for climbing in a single turn. Unfortunately our current sample not only doesn’t drop down more than 20mm, it also leaps back up again immediately. Others we’ve been tracking drop down but then don’t come back up again.
Our test fork also dives through its stroke very easily even when running well over the recommended pressure, and we’ve had similar issues with RockShox's heavier-duty Dual Position Air Lyrik too.
