Marzocchi offer loads of all-rounder options, with the AM2 ticking all the essential boxes without emptying your wallet. The open-bath internals are noisily squelchy but give Marzocchi's legendary smooth performance over small to medium-sized hits and provide phenomenal traction.
Low-pressure air assist for the main coil spring and simple but effective rebound make tuning easy, and reliability is excellent. It comes with a Maxle-style quick release through-axle, and the ETA switch crushes the fork down as far as you want for climbing. The 160mm stroke is smooth over bigger stuff and the broad, flat crown means reasonable steering stiffness. Fore/aft flex is noticeable under heavy braking though, and despite the sturdy weight, it's not for full-on freeride.
