Marzocchi All Mountain 1 SL 20mm review

Marzocchi All Mountain 1 SL 20mm review

This long travel mid-weight beast is our favourite tough trail fork on test. The recommended pressures are 30psi too high, but lower them and it's business as usual from the air-sprung, open-bath internals.

Our review
Light, reliable, versatile and super plush. Great price too

This long travel mid-weight beast is our favourite tough trail fork on test. The recommended pressures are 30psi too high, but lower them and it's business as usual from the air-sprung, open-bath internals. Travel is also adjustable down to 120mm, via the ATA knob. We had no trouble with the travel creep reported on MTB forums and the single-dial TST 5 compression and rebound damping takes the faff out of set-up.

The Maxle-style QR bolt-through axle stiffens steering up, and the weight is low for the travel. Skinny 32mm legs mean it's not as tight tracking as the beefier forks here though, and fore/aft twang is obvious if you put on bigger rotor brakes. The plush stroke copes fine with big stuff if you just let it run though, and the price is excellent for the performance, reliability and features.
